After the fall of the Moai cult, new Gods replaced old Gods and a struggle for power fell on Easter Island. To settle leadership bids, the Birdman Cult established a competition where the winner would be the supreme ruler for one year. But to win you would have to scramble down the steep slopes of Rano Kau Volcano, battle the crashing waves of the Pacific, navigate past sharks and climb onto the small islet of Moto Nui. There you’d wait. Wait for for the sooty tern to lay it’s first egg of the season, you’d then steal it and traverse your way back to your village keeping the egg intact.
