"Painting is by nature a luminous language"— #RobertDelaunay, born today in 1885. "Simultaneous Windows (2nd Motif, 1st Part)" (1912), is one of five of the artist's works on view now in Visionaries: Creating a Modern Guggenheim. The painting includes a vestigial green profile of the Eiffel Tower, one of the artist’s last salutes to representation before his leap to complete abstraction.
