Yesterday I became a student again. Patiently learning the Wet Plate Collodian process... one of the earliest forms of photography, starting in 1851. We printed on thin metal sheets known as tintypes. Part science, part art, and mostly patience made this one of the most humbling experiences I have had in a long time. I find it easy to get in a rut, going through the daily cycles of digital photography where gratification is so instant. This was exactly what I needed.
.
Thanks @conradfilm for patiently taking the time to teach me (even when I ruined all the chemicals) & for creating some of my favorite portraits of myself I have ever had. More in my story.
