Photo by @bertiegregory. A 12ft wide oceanic manta ray comes blasting out of the blue with an entourage of baitfish. Last July I was lucky enough to swim with these incredible creatures as they aggregated off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico. The baitfish use the manta's enormous body as a shield from aerial predators, allowing them to feed safely near the surface. Shot for @ナショナルジオグラフィック and @stevewinterphoto.
