Last night we slept next to the ocean. I laid awake in my top bunk with a headache and stomach cramps, an inability to sleep also brought on by my dear thousand worries that all decided to visit me at the same time. On the top bunk of the van the walls are canvas, and the sounds of the loudest waves filled my head. It sounded like I was an ant under the lane of a bowling alley. My dear thousand worries calmed a little more with every wave. Like the ocean reminding me to breathe. Breathe in, breathe out.
