#SpeakingInDance | “We are very different, and I like that,” said @blancalioficial of @aleksandrova_maria_bt, her partner in a new dance show that explores feminine myths. In “Goddesses & Demonesses,” which opens tomorrow at @nycitycenter, Maria, a #Bolshoi ballerina, and Blanca, a choreographer who has worked with @ビヨンセ and fashion designers like @ステラ・マッカートニー, dance their way through various aspects of womanhood. Good and evil? It’s in there, along with a parade of gorgeous costumes by the likes of Stella, @azzedinealaiaofficial, @jpgaultierofficial and @sophietheallet. In the staged production, the dresses matter; in some instances, they “bring the dance to life,” Blanca said. But for all of the lushness, “Goddesses” comes down to the chemistry between the 2 dancers. “Sometimes she’s totally on fire, and I feel like ice,” Blanca told the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ writer @giadk. “Sometimes I feel like fire, and she’s ice. We surprise each other. It’s funny because most of the time we are not in the same moment. I love that.
