In 1930, Hilla Rebay and Solomon R. Guggenheim visited the studio of Piet Mondrian in Paris for the first time. Hilla Rebay purchased "Composition No. 1: Lozenge with Four Lines"(1930) for her private collection, finding a deep connection with her fellow modern artist, while Solomon was less enthusiastic about the artist's work. Today, the Guggenheim collection includes more than ten of Mondrian's works, four of which are currently on view in #GuggVisionaries.
