Best support crew having my hubby and parents with me at the Nationals over the weekend. Thanks so much to my amazing Mum and Dad. So special to be racing in the 800m right before Sam's 800m and going through the process together. He did so well getting 4th, so close to 3rd, and I know he could be right up in the medals next time. Lots more to come from him. Also learnt a lot over the last couple of weeks after struggling with getting quite nervous before races again and handling pressure and disappointment. I had so much more peace at Nationals and the days leading into it, after a lot of praying and talking to supportive people. Because of this, I made peace with myself that I would be happy with my results regardless of placings, as long as I gave it absolutely everything and that God or anyone's love that is close to me, doesn't change depending on my results. Made the whole weekend a lot more enjoyable taking this approach rather than worrying about how I would go and what others thought. Was quite surprised to get 3 golds to be honest and I think the more relaxed, yet super focused approached helped a lot after all the hard training (and knowing that I was focusing more on the international season). Even if I hadn't won or achieved my goals, what I learnt over this time has really taught me a lot going forward. I've been running a long time, but you are always learning something new or relearning something you may have kind of forgotten. I hope this might help others who may struggle with this kind of thing. Do the hard work, do your best, surround yourself with supportive people and enjoy it, this means you are already achieving. And move on past the bad ones. I had to remember that in the difficult times this season, like when I had a shocker and ran 7 seconds slower than my 800m pb. Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me this season. I'm enjoying having a recovery week then back into solid training, building up for the international season. #enjoytheprocess #trusttheprocess #trustinGodsplan #believeinyourself #tracknation #athletics #familyisforever #upsanddowns #alwayslearning #passion #Godsgrace
