?❤?Happy #WorldFrogDay! Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute scientists are trying to fight the chytrid fungus, which has devastated frog populations around the world, with genes. If a frog shows resistance to the fungus, they look at the genes in that frog to help selectively breed amphibians for resistance to chytrid. That will help with efforts to reintroduce frogs, like the Panamanian golden frog, to the wild. #EarthOptimism #WeSaveSpecies
