Bison bison don't you just love the name? Genus and species are the same. These bison are part of a friend's herd in Southern Tennessee's Lost cove. We are well within the pre European contact range of Bison bison. Mason and DIxon write about encountering them as they surveyed their famous Mason-Dixon line. There is something wonderfully calming about seeing theses big shaggy beast roaming the eastern woodland.
