Gus update: I got a call from the doctor and he's responded well to the oral medication. Heart rate is normal. He's been moved out of the ICU. She told me he ate a bunch of salmon canned food last night so I've ordered a case of his favorite fishy stuff (thank you Amazon same day delivery) in anticipation of him coming home. They are currently running tests on his kidney and liver values to be sure they're still good. He will also be tested to make sure the inflammation in his heart is actually subsiding and not increasing. As long as those tests are what we need them to be, I will bring him home tonight. Hopefully the next time you see us he will be at home. I'll let you guys know what comes next then. Thank you so much for caring.
