Update on Gus: I had to leave him at UCD so they could administer meds to get his heart rate down. The estimate on the high end is $3300. I will do anything to save him, so I am asking for your help. I just got a call from the doctor and thank God, the meds are working. He will get an ultrasound tomorrow as long as he's stable. Here's where it gets weird: the doctor has done an ultrasound with the ER equipment that's not quite as detailed as the one they will do tomorrow and believes he may have a hernia in his chest, and that it's pushing part of his liver against the sac of his heart. This can be corrected with surgery and it may be causing all of this, not heart disease. She said this is very unusual. Oh Gus, what the hell? I love you. I will update again as soon as I can.
