Hard work and manual labor is the corner stone of the growth of the western portion of China.
As I look at this picture I remember how the image was made. I was at a gas station where our truck was having a flat tire fixed. The cart came past the gas station, I grab my camera and ran after the cart. I made it on top of the cart without the boys waking up or the driver noticing my arrival. I then realized that I only had 3 or 4 images left, but was able to make the picture that I was quite happy with. The light was very defused by an approaching dust storm that lasted for the two days.
Uyghurs live primarily in the Xinjiang #Uyghur Autonomous Region in #China, they are one of 55 officially recognized ethnic minorities
