A dancer amongst the stars, Dr. Mae C. Jamison once faced the difficult decision of becoming a professional dancer or continuing her medical studies at Cornell University. The decision she made, to leave Stanford and become a medical doctor, would be the propulsion necessary that makes us remember her today. On September 12, 1992 aboard the Endeavour, Jemison became the first African-American woman in space, where she conducted experiments on weightlessness & motion sickness.
