Got down into some snorkeling yesterday with my kids. Thanks @oneoceandiving for the trip. Sand & Galapagos sharks - 17 in total when we dropped in, and then they called in their peeps from deep below us - too many for me to count. First thought was 'beautiful' followed by 'respect" - grace against liquid glass blues & ghost columns of refracted light. Tried to differentiate between species and characteristics but just fell back into, 'Damn. Lotta sharks.' Ancient creatures - ancestors pre-dating the dinosaurs - and the ocean's apex predators except for nets & things deployed by us, who are preyed upon more by selfies or bathtub soap than by them. Humbling to be so near their elegance & strength. Kept my eyes sharpened, no doubt, but I was most concerned about the boat bouncing on my head in roughish waters. #LiveAndLetLive
