West Africa's Kru tribe. In the 1700's they were invaluable in the trade between Europe and other nations because of their knowledge of the Atlantic Ocean's waters. What's REALLY dope is that in the mid 1800's they became infamous among the slave traders for being virtually impossible to capture.
