Throwing it back to presenting at the #DirectorsGuildAwards. It was a gift for me to be part of honoring this group of women & men.
An actor's relationship with his/her director is a critical part of storytelling, & I've had the privilege of working with some epic directors.
Great directors are excellent visual artists, & while having a concrete vision for the story, the great ones are always open to the magic of the moment & to discovery... And, for an actor, directors can be a fellow journeyman as we navigate the often vulnerable waters of story.
Much love to all the directors who are "all-in". And ?cheers to the new directors (of all ages, genders, races, religions, sexual orientations, etc.) who have picked up a camera for the first time. I look forward to your stories.
