Is this baby seal cute or what? Elephant #seals come ashore twice a year -- in the winter for the pupping and mating season and again in the early summer to molt. Pups are around 3 feet long at birth and weigh about 70 pounds. Adult males can reach 16 feet in length and can weigh up to 5,000 pounds. The Piedras Blancas Light Station Outstanding Natural Area in #California is home to a large breeding colony, offering visitors views of these fascinating marine mammals.
