Today's zen garden. There is a joy in journaling, creating and making, and also within that arranging mementos that have unique stories attached. The treasures and delights of adventures and memories had. This for me is what breathes life into "things" and transforms them into companions of a journey that is ever exploring, discovering and unfolding. And this is what keeps me close to the memory of my grandfather. He was a collector of sorts to say the least but not for the sake of just having nice stuff. Every item displayed in my grandparents' home had a story attached to it. And every time I visited them I felt like I was walking into a magical fairytale. This was one of his many gifts and legacies and I hope to create that for my son too. That home will always be a warm place where wonder and imagination grows. And hopefully a place that springboards him to pursue his dreams, to create stories, to explore and grow and feel my smile as he lives each day in the fullness of all that he is. •
