As a white woman I have privileges that women of colour do not have. It is essential that we acknowledge our differences, mistakes, responsibilities! and update our methods, our brains and feminism. It is essential that feminism is intersectional! My feminism will include all. All ethnicities, those with disabilities, LGBTQ community, I apologize as a white feminist for my mistakes, for ways my feminism has not included all in the past, for ignorance on my part. Inclusion & recognition are not enough to end oppression, they are somewhere to start. The goal is to support those oppressed to advocate for themselves. The fight is for self determination, for regular oppressed people to go about their everyday lives safely, for equality & acceptance and love. My beautiful friend @emilynemondo & I (who I have known for 14 years now?! Whuuuut!) will continue this discussion and explore solution in NY this wk!
