I've taken medicine for most of my adult life to suppress depression. It's not easy. I was well into my 30s when I discovered that anyone can draw, and that it's only our insecurities that keep us from doing so. I was surprised to learn that the thing I was completely in awe of that other people could do, that I could do it too...or at least my own form of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Becoming obsessed with drawing has helped me fend off the negative thoughts that can so easily sneak back into my head. I would be lying if I said getting likes and words of encouragement from you guys hasn't been a big part of me realizing I can make art that people are interested in.
