Iraqi forces have retaken east Mosul from the Islamic State, Iraq’s Staff General Talib al-Sheghati, photographed here, claimed during a press conference in the town of Bartalla, east of Mosul, on Jan. 18, 2017. Now, Iraqi forces are planning their offensive to retake the west side of the strategic town.
