Photo by @FransLanting I returned from Antarctica recently where I revisited locations I knew from years before. I was astonished to set foot ashore in places where I expected to find snow and ice and instead found bare rock. Antarctica is melting fast and that will lead to a significant rise in sea levels around the planet. Ultimately, every one of the billions of people who live near a coastline will be affected. The icicles dripping from this iceberg stranded on the edge of Antarctica enabled me to visualize the precarious balance between water, ice, and sun. The invisible component in this delicate equation is all of humanity and the way we are impacting the planet. We can all play a role in making our lifestyles more sustainable and to stem the tide.
