Human here. Starting 2017 on a serious note (sort of) ? The Power of Animals: Animals are always there to comfort, listen, console and, often, entertain us. ? However, their ability to help people goes much further. There are endless cases where animals have helped people with medical conditions, such as dogs detecting cancer and seizures. Animals have also been shown to help people cope with depression and anxiety. . . Several medical reports have credited animals with other positive effects on people’s lives such as: •Lowering blood pressure and stress. •Helping people cope with loss and other major life changes. •Better communication in marriages and relationships. •Helping people cope with cancer, ALS, Alzheimer’s, AIDS and other chronic and/or terminal illnesses. •Higher survival rates for people with coronary heart disease. •Helping facilitate social interactions. ***to name just a few*** . . Monk & Bean are very special to me. I've mentioned this in the past...They came to me during some of my darkest times. They have helped me cope with tremendous loss as well as helping improve my symptoms of clinical depression on a daily basis. They are family, first and foremost. But they are also service animals. Although they are rescues I can't help but feel like I was the one rescued (as cliche as that may sound). I am thankful everyday for the love these two provide me, without fail. #attitudeofgratitude . . Have a blessed year friends, near and far.
