Happy 45th Anniversary!! I was going to write how amazing my parents are, what a great example of love and marriage they have lived, how they are so full of wit and wisdom and goodness and grit, but my mom proved all of this with her post so I just had to share! Love you, Mom and Dad!! And yes, she is wearing her wedding dress and it still fits her perfectly, go mom!!?Dad couldn't quite fit in his skinny white leisure suit?but he's still got it!

45 years of ups and downs and laughs and frowns, but never a dull moment or a moment when I doubted this man's love for me. Building anything takes work. A marriage is no different. It takes patience, tolerance, compassion, forgiveness, cheerleading, and kindness. While the journey will involve many twists and turns, the destination makes it worth it. I love this crazy family we've built. We are NOT perfect, but we ALL love a perfect God who helps us through difficult times. I dug out my wedding dress this year. While we put a lot of stock into picking them out or preserving them, dresses, rings, and bouquets are just symbols or reminders. They don't hold any magic formula. The magic happens when you make God a part of your relationship. Then when tough times come, and they will, you have something you both agree on and can hold on to. Okay, this little anniversary post turned into marriage advice. Sorry. Whenever you are in your marriage journey, take time to nurture it. Get help if you need it and keep God in the middle.
