Wasn't even going to post these, but I figured I'd share for those in similar situations. Been in a kind of "roll with the punches" mode training wise. Body is beat up from a quick turn around from comp to comp, outside stressors, technique a little wacko, but some times you just have to go with the flow. I went through a huge slump post Rio trip after a LONG year and a half of competing and qualifiers and emotions, so I was supposed to take a decent break. Ended up going to university Nationals in hopes of going to worlds. So we pushed on, even though I wasn't feeling too hot. Went to Worlds and had a better outcome than we could have ever hoped for. Now we're gearing up for AO for various reasons (3rd competition and 4 months past this "break" we were supposed to give my body). I'd be lying if I said I felt great or even good for more than maybe a day at a time in these last few months, but it is what it is. When the day doesn't go as expected, I just get what I can out of my body. Worked up to some frustrating heavy ish singles today, then back down for moderate doubles on a dead body to try and work out some of the strange things happening. Everybody sees what you pull together come competition day, but not many see all that leads up to it; both good and bad. I ride the struggle bus just as frequently (if not MORE) than the average lifter. Whether it's because I'm a perfectionist and just want things to look and feel a certain way or if they're actually bad, I dunno. You won't see many elite athletes post their shit days because they want to portray an image or keep themselves at that high standard, but LEMME TELL YA. They happen to all of us. 1.5 weeks till AO in my home town, then a much needed, nice little week or two break for this beat up body before heading into 2017. #HeadDownEyesForward #EarnedNotGiven #TrainForLongevity #SorryCNS #SorryBody #LoveYaMeanIt #TiredDaysAreAlmostOver
