Playing overseas can be really difficult, especially on the holidays. So much of your heart is back home with all the people you love, places of familiarity and comfort, memories made. But it's through this foreign isolation that you also gain a greater appreciation for everything.

I've seen how different life is around the world, how vastly complex cultures are, how lucky I am. So much of your life in simply built upon the family and place you are born into.

And I've learned that the world owes you nothing. Look around at all the people, things, and opportunities you have been blessed with in your life, and realize that nothing is too insignificant to take the time to be thankful for. All you really own in this world is your mind, body, and soul. The rest is a gift.
