"Did you know it's powerful and rare for young people to hold meetings with members of Congress? During a meeting with a Congressional office, the Legislative Director stopped talking, looked at me, and asked "so why do you care?" Their question being directed to me, out of all the other lobbyists in the room, is testimony to the fact that we millennials are a political minority that is rare to see in DC. It's vital we, as young people, use our unique niche to speak out for what we believe in. For me, that's climate and social justice.

I never had that apocalyptic turning point of realizing climate change is a big deal. Instead, it was a long process of connecting the dots, so by the time I consciously thought “we need to address the environmental issues we caused,” it was already so obvious. From there, I delved into the world of climate action, and now I advocate for carbon pricing legislation to #PutAPriceOnIt.
Let me tell you, it's fantastic. We millennials are an amazing asset in the political realm. We are vigorous and innovative. We are passionate and powerful. Plus, we are growing in numbers every day; calling Congress, gaining local support, making ourselves heard, and we are just getting started. Join us @PutAPriceOnIt."
