As the 20th edition of @parisphotofair takes place this weekend at the city’s Grand Palais, @clairederouenbooks and @daisy_hoppen are taking over our Instagram with their pick of the fair’s highlights. First up is @clairederouenbooks’ choice of @mack_books’ five year anniversary portfolio, which was produced in collaboration with @colette. “@mack_books is one of the best photo-book publishers in the world, and their books are at the centre of the Claire de Rouen world. To celebrate their five year anniversary, they have produced a limited edition portfolio of collotype prints by a selection of the artists they have published so far. Collotype is one of the oldest print processes and there are only a handful of studios left who can do it – these prints were made at the Benrido studio in Kyoto, Japan. Contributing artists include the incredible Polish photographer @janka_piotrowska, Takashi Homma, and @littlebrownmushroom. The prints are velvety and rich, and printed onto Japanese washi papers.” This photograph was taken by @gregoryhalpern from his photobook ZZYZX, winner of the 2016 Paris Photo Aperture Foundation Photobook of the Year Prize, included in the portfolio. #parisphotofair2016
