Right now it’s still bitter cold in Antarctica, yet emperor penguins are gathered in colonies where chicks are born and nurtured against all odds. It’s a heroic story of parenting. Here’s a scene from the edge of a colony where birds just back from a long journey over sea ice gather before they carry on into the center of the colony to find their chicks.
