We often say that getting beyond your comfort zone and seeking new experiences is what keeps you young & inspired. But I think a Key ingredient to that is Vulnerability. It's what allows us to feel the most exposed to something new... to see things in a new way. Of all the emotions we feel in nature it's the one in my eyes that strips us down to our most honest selves. Yet we basically spend our whole lives learning to protect ourselves from these types of feelings...going to great lengths to guard ourselves physically and emotionally from these types of experiences. We learn to approach new experiences with our guard up or attach labels to everything around us in regards to what's good and bad. On the opposite end we can be extremely timid and fearful.
But all you have to do is look at how a kid sees the world to appreciate the power of being vulnerable. How the simplest experience can become the most profound when you are open to it.
