Sitting high up on #MtArbel, in #Israel, overlooking the sacred and serene blue waters of the #SeaofGalilee, I watched the incredible sunrise; the promise of a new day. Beneath the glow of that magnificent sun and just over the hill: a war torn Syria. The coexistence seemed impossible. Just below: the incredible archaeological find of #Magdala, the fishing village where Mary Magdelene lived and studied and where Jesus preached his message of unity and love. Just above: the Petra like dwellings built into the impossible cliff side by Jews trying to escape the wrath of the Romans. The contrast was stark. How could such beauty and hope exist alongside such hatred and destruction? Sitting in the center of it all, it was as if the universe was asking, “What will you, Nia, choose? Love? Or Fear? What will you as a people choose? Love or fear?” Jews, Christians, Muslims, Atheists…what will you choose?
Contemplating our election, what will you, my fellow Americans, choose? Are you voting for #DonaldTrump? or #HillaryClinton? Are you voting for the person you want or against the person you DON’T want the most? Or are you voting for “the lesser of two evils?” In other words, is your vote out of love? Or out of fear?
Before you head to the polls on November 8th, I encourage you to have faith in what you know instinctively while sitting in the seat of love, and act from that place, and that place only. Recognize the difference between love and fear. In love there is expansion with no need to push. There is power without need to force. There is great impact without destruction. Let us not play the game of “evils.” Let’s change the game to that of love, #compassion, understanding and oneness. Vote out of love, not fear. And know that you have taken the most #powerful step for you as an individual, for our nation, for the world, and for humanity. In reality it doesn’t matter who you vote for. What matters is why you vote: out of love or fear. Because the intention of your vote creates and increases momentum in either direction: love or fear.
Choose fear and remain living in it. Choose love and begin the change by being the change.
