Marc Riboud once quoted an old African proverb: 'the stranger only sees what he knows.’ At high tide that day, I opted to attend the horse races at Kernic Bay, Plouescat. An abundance of situations unfolded, providing me with a melodious sheet upon which my eye could improvise while maintaining a distance so as to not be dragged in by the subject.

More attracted to the sidelines than to the races themselves, I was particularly drawn to a scene I later named 'Jeu de Foulard.’ I shot the scene fervently to record it continuously, observing the inherent modifications, the trajectories of the bodies, the postures, the faces and the arm and hand movements, without neglecting all of the other components of the photograph.” PHOTO: Jeu de Foulard (Scarf Play).
