Photo from Paw Project Indiana facebook page & caption on the photo- "Six declawed cats from a local humane society for paw evaluations that were surrendered for a variety of reasons including urinating outside the litter box and being anti-social.
We are told there are over 20 more that need evaluated for pain. Declawing does NOT keep cats in homes!" Folks, we must ban this inhumane procedure & stop cat owners & vets from harming so many cats!!!
Declawing 100% causes some sort of behavioral issue and/or pain and suffering in ALL cats that have their toe bones amputated.
The "leaders" with the NYSVMS told NY legislators this year, "Fact-There is no strong evidence to suggest that declawing increases the risk of unwanted behaviors." The AVMA says in their YouTube declawing video (in the link on my bio), "Some people believe declawing your cat will lead to behavioral abnormalities such as inappropriate elimination or biting. However currently available scientific evidence does not support this claim” and the AVMA says, "There is no scientific evidence that declawing leads to behavioral abnormalities when the behavior of declawed cats is compared with that of cats in control groups." GUESS WHAT PEOPLE! THERE HAVE BEEN NO STUDIES DONE WITH DECLAWED CATS & "CONTROL GROUPS"!! No one has rounded up 100 cats & declawed half of them & compared their behavior to the ones with claws. But there have been plenty of studies on declawed cats they've shown that behavioral issues are a lot higher than in cats with claws.
The unethical & sleazy pro-declaw vetmed professionals say this propaganda & lies so they can keep making money from this mutilating procedure.? 2 million cats a yr in US are declawed & that's a lot of ??for the pro-declaw vets & their assoc. want to protect this income! #greed
