The Seattle people loved him. He was very much a part of the culture out there. He covered every aspect of Seattle life – the artists, the working class, the farmers, the truly rich. Burt loved photographing high schools. There’s life. There’s action. He felt very much a part of the youthful spirit.
This photograph captures so well this time period. It recalls the American Bandstand, for instance. And of course, it recalls the connection we have with sports, whether personal or cultural.
