After ice climbing and then crossing a glacier on the first day of a five-day backpacking trip, this was the view from our first night's camp spot. It was an epic day in what we would soon learn over the coming days was one of the most beautiful and photogenic national parks in the system: Alaska's Wrangell-St Elias National Park.
