Photograph by @paulnicklen // What initially appears as play was in fact coordinated hunting behavior where the dolphins entered the water together, at great speed, splitting the bait ball of herring that was just below the surface. The fact that they can be swimming along at 20km/h, then leap from the water high into the air and finally enter the water, barely touching one another in this calculated and coordinated move to orchestrate a beautiful herring feeding session was mind boggling to experience. Nature always teaches me something of value.
