I have to share something that's heavy on my heart. I've had a feral friend who has been coming to our home for the last 10 years for a good hearty meal each night.
Her name is Gray, the Russian blue kitty.
She won't let my mom get anywhere near her, and she pretends like she's really ferocious and mean and hisses. But my mom and I can see right through that and know it's just her street demeanor coming out and she's scared. She's a survivor and I've enjoyed her company through the screens for such a long time. She tells me all about her outside adventures and I live vicariously through her.
Gray didn't show up for three nights in a row and we were really nervous. And then the night before last, she showed up and we were relieved.
But when my mom went out to take her a delicious plate of tuna, she noticed that Gray was limping badly on her back leg. So my mom just put down the plate of food and she ate it up within a minute. My mom went and got another plate of tuna and some dry food and water and put it outside for her and left her alone so that she didn't have to move too much on her leg.
I was really really worried because it looked really painful and I know Gray is a fighter and never shows her weaknesses. My mom went and got one of those big traps yesterday so she can catch Gray and take her to the vet to see what happened and make her better.
But we waited up until the wee hours of the night and Gray never showed up and we are really worried.
We don't know where she goes during the day otherwise we would try to go find her, so now all we can do is wait.
Maybe she's just saving her energy and trying to heal from whatever happened to her. I will keep you posted but let's just hope for the best and that she's not suffering. ??? Hug your kitty and never take them for granted. ❤️ #myfriend #feral #cat #missher #gray #citythekitty #pawsneedclaws
