One of my biggest struggles in work (and life) is self-sabotage and self-doubt. When I get close to something I really want or love, I get scared that it won't work out and I pull away. I cancel things, I hesitate and I end up retreating rather than pushing hard and taking the risk to see what happens. This entire book concept was a huge risk (I was supposed to write a DIY book) that worked out, but I still struggle with these feelings as I head out on the road again. I worry that I'll let people down, freeze on stage or will somehow miss a comment/email/person that has supported this project and disappoint them. It's funny because this feeling is one of the major topics we've been talking about in our panel events on the book tour and now that I'm home I'm missing those panels more than ever. I'm so excited to head to Atlanta tomorrow to talk with and get guidance from more amazing women. I'm so proud that this book is doing well, but I'm honestly just thankful for this chance to connect with women across the country who understand what this (and other life/work struggles) feels like. These panels are like mini therapy sessions and have lead to so much enlightenment and encouragement. I didn't realize how much I'd miss them after only a few days. Thank you to everyone for your support and to all the women who have been connecting with us in person and online. I am looking at, reading and appreciating each and every comment. They (and you) mean so much to me. Thank you. Also, thank you to the Hamilton soundtrack which I am currently blasting full-force to dance away my doubt and nerves. #notgivingawaymyshot #inthecompanyofwomen
