#NatGeoInspires Curiosity // A Bon Lama plays a horn as part of a puja or religious ceremony, this one focused on the divination of the year to come. The ceremony culminates with removing a hardened layer of butter floating atop Chang, one of several traditional alchohols, and then drinking it from a skull cup of a deceased Lama. Bon is the animistic religion that predates Tibetan Buddhism on the Tibetan Plateau, and lends much of its texture to the Tibetan Buddhism we recognize today. Shot on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック.
