Soldiers greet each other at a high military outpost on the India/Pakistan border, one just arriving for his term, one having already served three months...both wearing identical military issue outfits. Called the highest battle ground in the world, very few soldiers die from open fighting, but more often fall victim to exposure, avalanche, altitude illness, and severe cold. In 2012, 129 Pakistani soldiers and 11 civilian contractors were lost to a single avalanche event, and just last February, 10 Indian soldiers perished in a similar event.
