Photograph by @andyparkinsonphoto/@thephotosociety // As the years have gone by it seems that my storage of my original images, my RAW files, has become quite disjointed and disorganised with files from different years on multiple different hard drives. As such, whenever I get the chance I’m beginning the tedious process of trawling through all of my old RAW files, generally mass deleting stuff and every now again finding entire batches of quality images that I have simply never processed, usually because I’ve forgotten about them. I was also having a look through my mountain hare images from 2014, again the vast majority of which have yet to be processed and whilst I was extremely tempted to post some of the ridiculously comedic faces that they occasionally pull I’ve decided instead on this more straightforward image instead. These animals are so hardy and so perfectly adapted to their environment that even when one is completely covered in snow, even when some of that snow is resting on its eyeball, they will still often have that casual, laissez faire attitude that makes them so endearing to spend time with. I had slid slowly toward this one over some time and when the hare did finally decide to acknowledge my presence it did so with a complete indifference, before returning to the business of mostly chillin’! I had planned to spend a lot of time with these fantastic creatures last winter but other commitments got in the way. This winter however I have kept myself ruthlessly commitment-less and so all I need now is for Scotland to enjoy a proper winter again, one where I can enjoy being where I love it the most, up in the Scottish mountains with these sensational animals.
