Yesterday was a test. I couldn't have passed it without you. See, tonight - I'm headed to a meditation circle. And yesterday, when the van was stolen, I started to consider the alternative: not going. A meditation circle may seem like an easy retreat, but this one certainly isn't. I've been looking forward to it for some time. Even working towards this circle has been a challenge: no drinking, no coffee, no dairy, no shows or distractions of any kind (I had to break the "no phone" rule however). As I was walking yesterday, for hours on foot, hoping to catch a sight of the white top on the yellow van, I passed a dozen coffee shops, bars, and restaurants that all invited me on to convenient patios equipped with a dog bowl for Momo. I considered how refreshing a beer would be or how a coffee would refuel me but nope, I wasn't convinced. Your flood of support carried me down these drab streets with a grin. I was meant to persevere. Faced with other dilemmas: I couldn't secure a rental car, my friend offered her van and it needed an oil change, your hope and your courage embodied me and I was still set to persevere. I'd do without the rental and I'd do the oil change myself. Ok, it's gonna happen. This will happen. My friend showed up to bring me to her van, and I had just read a message on my post about a similar van to Mellow parked in Chinatown with a notice on the windshield. We decided to drive there first just incase. We drove up to where it was spotted and I looked at it with the widest eyes. Yellow, white tire cover, pinstripe down the side. "THAT'S IT!". Her car was locked and I couldn't get out and we laughed excitedly as she finally unlocked the door. I ran and opened the van's side door. It was a mess, everything was spilled out onto the floor, but it was my van. The van is ours again. Thanks for carrying me through this. Thanks for leading me to the van. Thank you a million times for caring and supporting and giving me the energy needed to make the right choices. Positive assertive support can create an energy like no other. You were my battery and we were 100% all day. So here's to a lifetime of journeys in Mellow. ? #foundmellow
