Changing the reasons of why you work out will make ALL the difference in not only your results, but the process and enjoyment of your "fitness journey" when I was in my early 20s I trained for one reason, To be thin. It was SO silly & SO wrong. It made me at times feel like I'd failed as I'm not naturally small. I'm an athletic build, I always have been. Some people are naturally small & petite, some people are naturally hour glass shaped with curves. I'm not. I was the tallest in my class and had size 7 feet from age 13! Genetic wise I've inherited my Broad shoulders, strong legs & my height (5ft9) from my dad & Grandma. So has my sister. We used to joke that we should be shot put throwers as we were both so physically strong growing up ?? Another reason training 'just to be thin' is wrong is because I'm female and along with being a female comes a shed load of hormones which once a month make me want to eat 12 loafs of bread and 19 bowls of pasta! It also tends to make me look bloated even when I haven't eaten any of the above. My body would & still does change & fluctuate depending on my monthly cycle. So given that I decided to stop training just to chase (for me) an unrealistic body shape. Instead, I started to tell myself that training is to improve my health, give myself more energy, relieve my stress levels, to mentally feel good, positive & happy about myself and to become stronger both physically AND mentally. I treat my workouts as a form of therapy & the most important ME time i will have. The looking good in a bikini / naked is a side effect of that. A Great side effect of course! Who doesn't want that? But it isn't now the only reason why I train. It hasn't been for around 7 years and its only In the last 7 years that I've actually transformed my body! Most importantly I've transformed my mental state and all around attitude, and guess what?! I did it all without punishing myself to become a body shape that isn't natural for me. Winning!!! ??❤️ Train because you're lucky enough to be able to move your body. Not as a punishment for something you ate. Trust me, you'll see yourself in a whole new wonderful way and your body will thank you for It.
