Models. The Film, 1991. (52min.) @Kunsthal Rotterdam exhibition opening from September 10th sponsored by @SWAROVSKI "In 1991, Lindbergh directed the documentary Models: The Film. Set in New York City, it featured #CindyCrawford, #NaomiCampbell, #StephanieSeymour, #LindaEvangelista and #TatjanaPatitz, the only video document about the supermodels era. Lindbergh offered a new interpretation of women post-1980s without paying too much attention to clothing. His use of black-and-white photography was very important to imagine these women, later labeled supermodels; they were so close to perfection, he felt the images ended up looking like cosmetics adverts when captured in colour. With black and white, he believed, you could see more of who they truly were."
