For the last few days we have been based at the American Alpine Club Climbers Ranch, a haven in the park that sits at the base of the Grand Teton mountain. The ranch provides access to a number of hiking trails, lakes, and a convenient bike path that connects the park to cities Moose and Jackson. Each morning we have awoken to beautiful morning light hitting the east face of the mountains, and on yesterday's pre-dawn hike we didn't see a single human until we were nearly back to a trail access parking lot. This place has certainly been a highlight of the TransAmerica bike route this far.
