Being a part of a team that organizes a festival has shown me the meaning and significance of community. It’s working together, giving your time, sharing your knowledge and learning about yourself. It’s a huge undertaking, even for a small festival, that involves months of dedicated hard work by dozens for the enjoyment and cultivation of thousands.

Our festival is as inclusive as we can make it, too, whereas the goal is for each one of those thousands to feel as involved as the team that built it. That means interactive art installations, muralists chatting with passersby, music that embodies you and an overall vibe that awakens something inside of you that you didn’t know about before.

Here’s my buddy Nico, he’s been helping with the muralists, and we’re hanging out inside of a giant dome the architecture school is assembling as our festival entrance.
