A trip to Uganda calls for a collage. The last day @chrismarlow from @helponenow asked us for one word to sum up what we felt about this trip. My word was proud. I felt so proud of these leaders and teachers and moms and dads who are doing great things in the face of such difficult circumstances. The mom of 7 who had been widowed 3 times and who just moved into her new home, the couple who had 6 biological children and 4 foster children who were orphans from their community living under their small roof. The teacher who had the courage to leave a life of abuse and who took in a 14 year old orphaned student as a single mom and treated him as her own. The local leader Pastor Edward who loves his community so much he'll advocate for them and dream about ways to improve their lives by building a school a healthcare center, a new dorm for the girls so they can get an education. The young girls who were rescued from slavery and abuse who had worked hard in school and had plans to become doctors and teachers. So much to be proud of for the people we met. And so much still to do. It's so easy for us to help. A little goes such a long way. Click on the link in my bio for more pics and details about our trip!! Thanks for sticking with me through this long post. We've been home a week and heart is still so full from the experiences we had in Uganda and the beautiful people we met. Feeling thankful, hopeful and proud.
