About the shot: One of my favorite things to do during the summer is spend time on the water. Located about 40 minutes south of my hometown, #Rochester, NY, is a string of lakes known as the #FingerLakes. These are a popular spot for people in Upstate NY as the have clear warm water and some awesome #sunsets! This shot was captured on #CanandaiguaLake With the long summer days, post dinner surf sessions are a favorite for family and friends as the water is calm and the sky is beautiful!

How this shot was captured: When surfing, I love to throw my camera on time-lapse mode and let it snap a photo ever 0.5 seconds. This typically results in a ton of photos, most of which aren't too great but part of the fun is sorting through them to find the winners! For this photo a knew I wanted to get the sunset, so with me left hand I held the camera out as far as I could and let it take a couple shots. One key to shooting photos on the lake is keeping water droplets off of the lens, I have had tons of awesome shots ruined by them! One thing that works great is licking the lens then dipping in quickly in the water. Although it looks funny and most people have no idea why you are licking your #GoPro, it really works #wakesurf, #lululemon #malibuboats #slingshotwake #andnorth #ExploreMore #InstaSunset #SummerVibes #goprooftheday
