I am entering into the next year of my life with a heavy heart tonight. Weighed down by worry, crushing heartache, and a desperate need to find hope in it all. I hope I hope I hope that we can break the feedback loop that has broken us. That we can drop a new stone into the lake of this universe, and see the power of a new ripple effect. It's love. It's recognition of sameness. In our bones. In our blood. Beneath the costumes we wear on the outside in this short lived turn on the merry go round of life, exists the truth that in ashes and chromosomes we are all the same. Humans. I love humanity. I fear for it. But damn I love it more. To all the communities suffering loss tonight ... you have my heart. People out there in the world? I know we can do better. It's up to us to make it so.
